big india & small innovations
This expansive nation of 1.3 billion people may be big, but it is impressively good with small innovations.
Just two to feature here, meet Aakash, the world’s cheapest tablet to be maid, just for US$60. See here for more.

Not just that, but but beyond Tata’s Nano, which has earned itself somewhat of a cult following, Bajaj has now come up with yet another small car, the RE60. Oops! You are not allowed to call it a car; it is a “four-wheeler”.
The context for this is auto-rickshaws in India are called “three-wheelers”. So the RE60 is positioning itself as a “four-wheeler”, targeting a the average-bhai market in India, perhaps even the auto-rickshaw drivers themselves. And to do this, it is all in the pricing. This car costs US$2,200, which is about the same price as my DSLR camera!

So there, big India, with (amazingly) small innovations. But there is no guarantee they would function properly (or not catch fire whilst in use).
